Fluent in both comedy and drama, Tucker has directed more than 85 different television series across every platform, showcasing his stylistic range as a storyteller and multifaceted skills as a filmmaker. Tucker’s ability to work with such a broad range of shows, casts and creative partners speaks to his love of collaboration and empowerment of actors. With a deep understanding of story both as a director and showrunner, Tucker balances the larger arcs of full narratives with the more nuanced journeys of individual characters.
Tucker’s work in television has touched virtually every genre, from comedies like Entourage, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Weeds, Ugly Betty, Californication, Bored to Death, New Girl, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Patriot, The Good Place and The Orville, to dramas such as the multiple Emmy Award nominated Apple TV+ series The Morning Show, The Diplomat, Homeland, Lost, Ray Donovan, House of Cards, Surface, Terminal List, Carnivàle, Alias, Heroes, CSI, The X-Files, Bates Motel, The Sinner and The Stand. Tucker’s projects include directing all episodes of the series Swimming With Sharks, starring Diane Kruger and Kiernan Shipka.
As a commercial director, Tucker infuses the sensibilities he has cultivated in television into smart and innovative campaigns, such as his spot for Budweiser featuring Bill Pullman reprising his pop-iconic role as the President of the United States from Independence Day, or his irresistibly charming series of commercials starring real-life couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard triumphing over kid’s birthdays, holidays and dinner parties with the help of Samsung. Tucker has worked with a variety of clients that include Comcast, Toyota, Hertz, NFL, IKEA, Visa, Samsung, DraftKings and Ford.
